Short, because we do not collect much. Everything below is something this site actually does — there is nothing here for show.
WAFFLE SUPPLY is the trading name of Lewis Edwards, a sole trader operating waffle-supply.co.uk. Contact: info@waffle-supply.co.uk. Address: 7 Well House Drive, Penymynydd, Chester CH4 0LB. We are the data controller for anything described here.
| If you email us, or use “Ask about this card” | Your name, email address and whatever you write. The question form on a card page simply sends us an email, so it is treated the same way. We keep it while we are dealing with your question and for as long as we need it for our records if you buy something. |
|---|---|
| If you tick “Email me when new cards and restocks come in” | Your name and email go on our restock list, with the date and what you asked about. The box is never ticked for you. We only email you about new cards and restocks, and you can come off the list any time by replying to one of those emails or writing to info@waffle-supply.co.uk. |
| If you buy something | Your name, delivery address and email, so we can send the card. Payment is handled by our payment provider — we never see or store your card details. |
| If you agree to analytics | Google Analytics records which pages and cards are looked at. No name, no address, no email. See below. |
| Just browsing | An anonymous count of the pages you look at, with no cookie (see “Our own visit counter” below). Nothing that identifies you. There are no accounts on this site, and the only forms are the optional question boxes on card pages and the card shows map. |
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which cards people look at. It is switched off until you agree — the bar at the bottom of the page is a real choice, not a notice. Decline and Google receives an anonymous signal with no cookie attached, which we cannot connect to you.
We never share anything with advertisers, and advertising features are turned off. If you change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the bar will ask again.
Whatever you choose in the bar, a small counter on our own server counts page views, so we know how many people visit and which cards they like. It sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser. To tell one visit from another it turns your connection details into a one-way code using a secret that is deleted every midnight, so a visit cannot be traced back to you or linked to another day. Your IP address itself is never stored.
It records the page, the site or link you arrived from, the kind of device (phone, tablet or computer) and shop actions such as looking at a card, adding to the basket, searching or sending a question. If your browser sends a “do not track” or Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is counted at all. These counts are kept for 14 months and then deleted.
These sit on your device, not on our server. We cannot read them, and they never leave your browser, except where it says so below.
| Your basket | What you have added, so it is still there when you come back |
|---|---|
| Your cookie choice | So the bar does not ask you every time |
| How you found us (only if you agree to analytics) | The site or advert that first brought you here and the page you landed on, plus a reference code if you send us a question. If you then send a question or place an order, this goes with it, so we know which places bring people to the shop |
| The map | Where you dropped the pin, so the map opens where you left it |
The map page uses OpenStreetMap for the map itself, and their search and routing services when you look up a place or ask for directions. When you use those, your request — including the location you typed or the pin you dropped — goes to those services. We do not record it. The event listings come from a published Google Sheet.
| Google Analytics | Visit counts, only with your agreement |
|---|---|
| Our payment provider | Takes the payment. They handle your card details, we never receive them |
| Royal Mail or our courier | Your name and delivery address, to deliver the parcel |
| Our hosting provider | Keeps the site online. Standard server logs, and our own anonymous visit counter, which runs on our server and is not shared |
| OpenStreetMap | Map tiles, search and directions, on the map page only |
We do not sell your data, and we never will.
Order records for six years, because tax rules require it. Emails for as long as the conversation is useful and then no longer. The restock list until you ask to come off it. Analytics data is kept for 14 months and then deleted by Google automatically, and our own anonymous visit counts for 14 months too.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it. Email info@waffle-supply.co.uk and we will answer within a month, usually the same week.
We will have to keep anything the law requires us to keep — order records for tax — and we will tell you if that applies.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
If this changes we will update this page and change the date below. We will not quietly start doing something this page says we do not do.
